Ian Peat Property Management has full professional accreditation, giving all our clients peace of mind regarding the standards of service they can expect. Ian Peat is a Fellow of the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA) and the firm is a member of the Ombudsman for Estate Agency Scheme.

National Association of Estate Agents

The National Association of Estate Agents is dedicated to the goal of professionalism within high street estate agency. Their aim is to reassure the general public that by appointing an NAEA member to represent them they will receive in return the highest level of integrity and service in both sales and lettings. Each NAEA member is bound by a vigorously enforced Code of Practice and must adhere to professional Rules of Conduct. Failure to do so can result in financial penalties and possible expulsion from the Association.

The NAEA also requires members to belong to the Ombudsman For Estate Agency Scheme which is an independent redress system if the agent's own complaints procedure fails to satisfy the customer.

Ombudsman for Estate Agency Scheme

The Ombudsman for Estate Agency Scheme (OEA) is an independent service which offers to the general public a facility for dealing with disputes between Member Agents and actual or potential landlords or tenants involved in letting or renting a residential property.

The Ombudsman is independent of the Member Agencies and provides a free, fair and impartial review of complaints if the Member's own in-house Complaints Procedure fails to satisfy the Customer.

The Ombudsman's role is to resolve such disputes in full and final settlement and where appropriate he may make an award of financial compensation.

The basis of the Scheme is the Code of Practice which is mandatory on Member Agencies, and which is endorsed by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT).
