What is RSS?

RSS stands for 'Really Simple Syndication'. It is used to provide short descriptions of website content which can be viewed at a glance, and contains links to the full version of the content. People are able to scan the short content of the RSS, and then click on items of interest. This removes the need to regularly visit the full website to check for updates.

RSS is delivered as an XML file known as an RSS feed or RSS stream. An orange rectangle with the letters XML is often used to link to a site's RSS feed.

How do I use an RSS feed?

To use an RSS feed, you will need something called a news reader. News readers are sometimes included as part of your internet browser, such as Firefox, Opera or Safari. If you use Internet Explorer as your browser, you will need to install a separate news reader.

Once you have chosen a news reader, you then decide which content you would like to receive via RSS. This is known as subscribing, and is done in various ways depending on your news reader. It might involve copying and pasting the URL of the RSS feed into your news reader. The URL of our Latest Properties RSS feed is:
